More right-wing trolls masquerading as "liberals"

Beware of so-called "liberal" pages on Facebook that are out there demanding the public execution of Edward Snowden. The folks behind these pages are probably trolls hired to harm the progressive cause. No real progressive would demand Snowden's execution.

The wheels do move

I haven't worked on this blog or the newsletter in the past few months - but every single day, I've been trying to think of powerful ways to fight the 1% right here in Campbell County and in Greater Cincinnati overall. Also, Occupy Cincinnati is going to be stepping up its activities again soon.

Occupy has never gone away, and it never will, as long as we have work to do.

Details about tomorrow's rally in Covington

Pro-Library rally is tomorrow (Monday, April 15) at noon at 6th & Philadelphia in Covington. I know that's not in Campbell County, but the Tea Party picked the wrong fight by trying to bankrupt all the local libraries.

Library rally in Covington

We're planning on holding the next pro-library event in Covington sometime early next week. That's because the Kenton County library has been gutted similarly to the Campbell County library.

Today's rally

Pro-library rally is set for 10:30 AM today in front of the Newport Peace Bell.

Pro-library rally tomorrow!

Am planning a small rally in support of our libraries tomorrow. Details to come tomorrow morning.

News of pro-library rally

Yes, we know all about that ridiculous Tea Party lawsuit against the Campbell County Public Library. I am outraged at the Tea Party winning its case, which may very well close the entire county library system. (The libe may still win on appeal.)

So we are planning a rally that supports the library against this lawsuit. It could even be next week - possibly even early in the week! Please check this website early and often for details.

More about Occupy and the NRA

Please do not assume we support the NRA just because we exposed those who co-opt the Occupy label for their own purposes.

A few days ago, when the "Occupy the NRA" page began, it appeared as if it had very little to do with opposing the NRA. Numerous people pointed out that the page featured content that was dividing Occupy. Posts pointing this out were quickly deleted.

Yet, just within the past few hours, this page's supporters have bashed an anti-Bush page.

It appears as if "Occupy the NRA" has in effect done more to defend Bush than to oppose the NRA. That's not Occupy.

Avoid "Occupy the NRA"

Folks, please avoid the group known as "Occupy the NRA." That group is not a bona fide Occupy group, and is just somebody trying to co-opt Occupy.

They have deleted posts from myself and other folks on their Facebook page just within recent hours.

Warning about apparent infiltration

On behalf of Occupy Campbell County, I would like to apologize for a picture that appeared today on Occupy Wall Street's main Facebook page. It is my belief that this picture was posted by somebody infiltrating Occupy in an effort to divide the Occupy movement.

The Occupy movement has no consensus either supporting or opposing gun control. It is my understanding, however, that the Occupy movement opposes all efforts to repeal any part of the Bill of Rights outright. Although the picture in question did not demand outright repeal of the Second Amendment, it is clear that it was posted without any input from the movement.

Chalk the Walk!

Not a Campbell County event but important nonetheless...

Occupy Cincinnati is having something this weekend called Chalk the Walk. The Occupy fam is gonna break out the sidewalk chalk and spread the 99% message! If you have some chalk, you might want to bring it.

It starts at Piatt Park at 6 PM on Friday!

New article about Lakeside Terrace

Here's the Cincinnati Enquirer's latest coverage of the Lakeside Terrace debacle:

http://nky.cincinnati.com/article/AB/20120705/NEWS0103/307060007/Campbell-Co-close-Lakeside-Terrace

We hope to have more protests to help save Lakeside Terrace.

Welcome!

Welcome to the website of Occupy Campbell County (Kentucky)!

OCC isn't just a Facebook page, nor is it just a wing of Occupy Cincinnati. We have our own events, and today - July 4 - is a fitting day to start our own website to keep you posted!

In April, we joined a tax fairness protest in Cincinnati, and last week, we sponsored a rally against the closing of the Lakeside Terrace seniors' home!

Check this page often. As the Occupy coalition continues to grow, Occupy Campbell County will grow with it!
